The World Boxing Association has decided to strip Anthony Mundine of his interim WBA Jr Middleweight title.
The Ratings Committee reported that it has implemented the rules after Mundine’s camp failed to obey an order for a mandatory fight against world champion Austin Trout.
Mundine claimed the title with a decision win over Rigoberto Alvarez in October of 2011 but bizarrely turned down a world title fight against regular champion, Austin Trout which Mundine campaigned for.
